About Clear Thinking Finance UK

Helping you understand your financial future with confidence

Financial planning doesn't have to be complicated.

Clear Thinking Finance UK was created to help individuals, employees and employers better understand their financial position, explore future options and make more informed decisions with confidence.

Through personalised financial projections and educational support, I help turn complex financial questions into clear, practical insights that can support better decision-making.

Why I Started Clear Thinking Finance UK

Many people know they need to make important financial decisions but are unsure where to start.

Some do not seek advice because they assume it is only suitable for those with significant wealth. Others are concerned about the potential cost of financial advice, both initially and on an ongoing basis.

Many simply want a clearer understanding of their financial position before deciding what support they need or to proceed with their plans confidently.

Clear Thinking Finance UK was created to help bridge the gap between generic guidance and regulated financial advice, helping people understand their position, explore potential outcomes and make more informed decisions about their next steps.

✓ Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS)

✓ Pension, retirement and later-life planning expertise

✓ Cashflow modelling and financial forecasting

✓ Technical research and suitability support

✓ Helping clients understand complex financial decisions

Technical Planning Experience

Before establishing Clear Thinking Finance UK, I worked in senior technical roles within financial planning firms, supporting advisers and clients with complex financial planning matters. I continue to provide outsourced technical support to financial advisory firms, helping maintain my knowledge of industry developments and planning solutions.

I also led teams of around 15 paraplanners and technical specialists, supporting research, suitability and financial planning work across a wide range of client circumstances.

This experience provided valuable insight into the practical challenges people face when planning for retirement and making important financial decisions.

The Difference

Why Clear Thinking Finance UK Is Different

Having spent many years working within financial planning firms, I understand the value that effective financial planning can bring when making important life decisions.

Using professional financial planning and cashflow modelling software, I can map your finances, model future outcomes and test different scenarios to help bring your financial future into focus.

Together, we can explore how different approaches may affect your future plans, whether that involves retirement timing, pension withdrawals, annuity income, drawdown strategies, care costs, inheritance planning or other significant financial decisions.

Rather than recommending specific products or providers, my role is to help you understand the potential implications of different options and identify the areas where further consideration or regulated financial advice may be beneficial.

The aim is simple: to provide greater clarity, helping you make informed decisions with confidence.

A Little More About Me

Away from financial planning, I am married with two children and a Sheepadoodle who ensure life is never too quiet for long.

When I am not working, you will often find me trying to improve my golf game (with mixed success), enjoying long summer barbecues with family and friends, or cooking hearty comfort food come rain or shine.

Like many of the people I work with, I understand the balancing act of family life, future aspirations and making important financial decisions. It is one of the reasons I enjoy helping people gain greater clarity and confidence about their future plans.

I believe financial planning should be practical, understandable and centred around what matters most to each individual or couple. After all, financial decisions are rarely just about money – they're about the lifestyle, choices and opportunities they can help create.
